Islamic Marriage

The following documents are required for an Islamic marriage at the Manchester Islamic Centre:

1. Two photos of the bride and groom.

2. The original birth certificate of both the bride and groom. (If one of the couple is not Iranian, the original passport is required.) If the original birth certificate is not available, please contact us.

3. National ID number.

Notes:

– If either of the couple has been married before, the divorce of the previous marriage must be officially recorded in the birth certificate. Otherwise, the Centre will be unable to perform the Sharia marriage.

– The cost of a religious marriage is £170.

– If you choose an appointment on Saturday or Sunday, an additional £30 will be charged.

– Islamic hijab is not mandatory, but please respect the rules of the mosque and the Islamic Centre.

– If one of the spouses is non-Muslim, they must convert to Islam before the marriage.
